2. What data we collect and why

We collect personal data in the following ways:

• Contact form: name, phone number, email address, and your message — so we can respond to your enquiry.
• AI chat assistant: your name, phone number, and/or email address (if you provide them), plus the content of your conversation — to follow up on your enquiry and provide an accurate response.
• Website analytics: anonymised usage data (pages visited, browser type) via server logs — to maintain and improve the site.

Our lawful basis for processing this data is legitimate interests (responding to business enquiries) under Article 6(1)(f) of UK GDPR.

3. How we use your data

• To respond to your enquiry by phone or email
• To provide a quote or arrange work
• We do not use your data for marketing without your explicit consent
• We do not sell or share your data with third parties for their own purposes

4. AI chat assistant and OpenAI

Our website uses an AI chat assistant powered by OpenAI's API. When you use the chat assistant, your messages are sent to OpenAI's servers for processing. OpenAI acts as a data processor on our behalf under a Data Processing Agreement.

OpenAI does not use API data to train their models. You can review OpenAI's privacy practices at openai.com/policies/privacy-policy.

Conversation data is stored on our secure server and automatically deleted after 90 days.

5. How long we keep your data

• Chat conversations: automatically deleted after 90 days
• Contact form submissions: deleted within 12 months of last contact, or sooner on request
• Email correspondence: retained for up to 6 years for legal/contractual purposes

6. Your rights

Under UK GDPR you have the right to:

• Access — request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
• Rectification — ask us to correct inaccurate data
• Erasure — ask us to delete your data ("right to be forgotten")
• Restriction — ask us to limit how we use your data
• Portability — receive your data in a portable format
• Object — object to processing based on legitimate interests

7. Cookies and local storage

Our website does not use tracking cookies. The AI chat assistant uses browser localStorage to remember that you have accepted this privacy policy (so you are not asked again on each visit) and sessionStorage to maintain your chat session within the browser tab. No data is shared with advertisers.

8. Security

We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your personal data, including HTTPS encryption in transit and access-controlled storage. No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

If you are unhappy with how we handle your data, you have the right to lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO):
